Claude API: country not supported

Anthropic offers its API only in the countries on its list; any country outside it, including Russia, Belarus and China, is unsupported, and the policy also covers companies from those countries. You can connect Claude through API429 with one OpenAI-compatible key.

What Anthropic says

Anthropic’s supported-countries page states that any country or region not listed is unsupported, including organizations incorporated in or controlled from such countries.

The docs do not specify which status and message the API returns for unsupported countries. In the error reference, 403 permission_error means the key lacks permission for the resource.

How to connect Claude

Through API429: base URL https://gateway.api429.com/v1, a key from your account and the exact Claude model ID from the catalog, such as claude-sonnet-5-5 or claude-opus-5-5. Works with the OpenAI SDK, Claude Code, Cursor and n8n.
